Abstract

An algorithm is proposed for determining the proximity distribution of energy transfers from measured dose-averaged lineal energies. The applicability of the algorithm is illustrated with a calculation for a Cobalt-60 beam based on a set of experimental y_D values. Practical methods for using the proposed algorithm are discussed.
