Effect of nonnegativity constraints on detectability

Kenneth M. Hanson
Los Alamos National Laboratory

It is demonstrated that under certain circumstances the use of a nonnegativity constraint in tomographic reconstruction from noisy projections can improve the detectability of objects.

Keywords:tomographic reconstruction, constrained algebraic reconstruction technique (ART), nonnegativity constraint, object detection, detectibility
