We present evidence for a large scalar contribution to the cross section for the reaction e + p-->e + K+ + Lambda . No evidence for a scalar contribution is found for the reaction e + p --> e + K+ + Sigma0. This is reminiscent of the results for the pi+ + n and pi+ + Delta0 final states.
